On 17 June 2008, the Rt Rev Brian Smith, Bishop of Edinburgh gave a lecture to the diocese offering a critical perspective on debates currently taking place within the Anglican Communon.
Bishop Brian questioned some aspects of the understanding of God implict in that discussion, and offered an alternative approach to difference and disagreement in the Communion.
