On Sunday 24 August Bishop Brian took part in two festival events. At lunchtime he opened an exhibition of art by prisoners at HMP Shotts at St Michael and All Saints Church Edinburgh. The exhibition is open every day until 30 August from 12pm to 4pm and includes a picture which has been donated to the church by a prisoner who has already won a major national award.
In the afternoon +Brian went to the Edinburgh Central Mosque and entered into an interfaith dialogue with Idris Tawfiq entitled Muslims, Christians and the Real Jesus as part of the Festival of Spirituality and Peace. An onlooker described it as ‘a fascinating meeting between two excellent representatives of two different religious positions.’
