The Rt Rev Brian Smith, Bishop of Edinburgh, was among the judges for this year’s Learning for Life Values Poster Awards, which attracted entries from more than 15,000 young people from across Scotland.
Entrants were asked to design a poster highlighting people whose integrity, perseverance and determination inspired them. Lance Armstrong, Kylie Minogue and Martin Luther King were among many individuals who featured prominently in this year’s submissions.
The Bishop said: “It was highly inspiring to read the thoughtful comments of an impressive group of young people, focusing on core values and looking to the future with sensitivity and determination.”
Young people taking part in the programme were presented with awards for their achievement at the Central Scotland Regional Award Ceremony on 17 June .
Please see the Learning for Life website for more about the awards, and details of next year’s programme.
