The Very Revd Dr John Armes was consecrated as 26th Bishop of Edinburgh at St Mary's Cathedral, Edinburgh.  The Very Revd Ian Barcroft (Dean of the Diocese of Glasgow and Galloway) preached the sermon and wonderful music was provided by pupils of St Mary's Music School, The Cathedral choir and the choir of St John's Princes Street.

The sun shone on the lawns of the cathedral as the congregation thronged out for the reception to celebrate this happy occasion.
